The Al-Abdali border crossing in Kuwait, the country's northernmost point, was targeted on Thursday by an Iranian drone attack.

The attack on the crossing, which connects Kuwait to Iraq, caused material damage but no casualties, according to the Kuwaiti army.

The Kuwaiti Defense Ministry revealed that specialized teams immediately began taking necessary measures to secure the site in coordination with relevant authorities.

Additionally, inspection and bomb disposal teams from the land force began surveying and securing the area, removing drone debris according to approved technical procedures to ensure the site's safety and freedom from any hazards.

Meanwhile, Al Arabiya's bureau director in Iraq, Majid Hamid, reported that Iraqi sources believe the Al-Abdali border crossing with Kuwait was targeted by a drone, noting that 'the picture is still unclear and requires some verification.'

A Kuwaiti official, in a statement to AFP, accused Iran of being behind the attack.

Ministry of Defense spokesperson Colonel Staff Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan said, 'The Al-Abdali border crossing was subjected this afternoon to an attack by hostile drones, resulting in material damage with no human casualties, thank God.'

An Iraqi security source had also confirmed the attack before the ministry's statement was issued.
