Ministry of Interior: 15,836 violators of residency, labor, and border security laws arrested in Saudi Arabia in a week
The joint field campaigns to monitor and arrest violators of residency, labor, and border security laws, conducted in all regions of the Kingdom, from 24/1 to 1/2/1448 AH corresponding to July 9 to 15, 2026, yielded the following results:
First: The total number of violators arrested in the joint security field campaigns in all regions of the Kingdom reached 15,836 violators, including 7,892 violators of the residency law, 4,617 violators of the border security law, and 3,327 violators of the labor law.
Second: The total number of those arrested while attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom reached 1,631 individuals, 33% of whom were Yemeni nationals, 65% Ethiopian nationals, and 2% other nationalities. Additionally, 42 individuals were arrested for attempting to cross the border out of the Kingdom illegally.
Third: 21 individuals involved in transporting, harboring, employing, and covering up for violators of residency, labor, and border security laws were arrested.
Fourth: The total number of violators currently undergoing enforcement procedures reached 30,139, including 28,087 men and 2,052 women.
Fifth: 17,273 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, 6,160 violators were referred to complete their travel bookings, and 12,211 violators were deported.
The Ministry of Interior emphasized that anyone who facilitates the entry of violators of the border security law into the Kingdom, transports them inside, provides them with shelter, or offers them any assistance or service in any form, subjects themselves to penalties of up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to one million riyals, confiscation of the means of transport and the residence used for shelter, in addition to public defamation. It stated that this crime is classified as a major offense warranting arrest and is considered a crime against honor and trustworthiness. It urged reporting any violations to 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and to 999 and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom.
