More than 15,000 Violators of Residency, Labor, and Border Security Regulations Apprehended in a Week
The Ministry of Interior announced the results of the joint field security campaigns to monitor and apprehend violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations, which were carried out in all regions of the Kingdom during the period from 24 to 1/2/1448 AH, corresponding to July 9 to 15, 2026.
First: Apprehended Violators
The total number of violators apprehended during the field campaigns reached 15,836, distributed as follows: 7,892 violators of the residency system, 4,617 violators of the border security system, and 3,327 violators of the labor system.
Second: Attempts to Breach Borders
The total number of those apprehended while attempting to enter the Kingdom illegally reached 1,631 individuals, of whom 65% were Ethiopian nationals, 33% Yemeni nationals, and 2% from other nationalities. Additionally, 42 individuals were apprehended attempting to exit the Kingdom illegally.
Third: Those Involved in Facilitation and Harboring
Twenty-one individuals involved in transporting, harboring, employing, and covering up violators of residency, labor, and border security systems were apprehended.
Fourth: Procedures for Implementing Regulations
The total number of violators currently subject to regulatory enforcement procedures reached 30,139 individuals, including 28,087 men and 2,052 women.
Fifth: Deportation and Legal Procedures
A total of 17,273 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, while 6,160 violators were referred to complete their travel bookings, and 12,211 violators were deported.
Warning from the Ministry of Interior
The Ministry of Interior emphasized that anyone who facilitates the entry of border security violators into the Kingdom, transports them within it, provides them shelter, or offers them any assistance in any form, subjects themselves to penalties of up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to one million riyals, confiscation of the vehicle and housing used for harboring, as well as public defamation.
The Ministry clarified that this crime is classified among the major offenses that warrant arrest and are offenses against honor and integrity, calling on citizens and residents to report any violations via number 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and numbers 999 and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom's regions.
