Axios reported Wednesday, citing two unnamed informed sources, that the head of Israel's Mossad intelligence agency traveled to Washington two weeks ago to discuss the issue of war with Iran, in his first visit to the US capital since taking office.

The report added that he met with CIA Director John Ratcliffe and White House officials, according to Reuters news agency.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Wednesday that Washington remains ready to negotiate to end the Iranian crisis, but Tehran does not take the talks seriously, stressing that Iran must not be allowed to control the Strait of Hormuz, arguing that it would set a dangerous precedent for the world.

The US military ended early today the eleventh night of strikes on Iran, which included targeting aircraft hangars and drone storage sites, aiming to 'further weaken Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.'
