Iran activated its air defenses in the capital Tehran on Wednesday, amid reports of strikes and explosions in various parts of the country, hours after the United States announced the completion of its eleventh consecutive night of military operations against Iran.

Iran's official television reported hearing intense air defense activity in western, eastern and northeastern Tehran, while IRNA news agency said explosions occurred in Bushehr province, which houses the country's only nuclear power plant, along with strikes in southern and northwestern Iran.

Iranian media also reported hearing explosions in the cities of Chabahar, Mahshahr and Sirik, in addition to several explosions west of the city of Tabriz.

Noor News agency reported that Iranian air defenses intercepted what it described as 'hostile targets' in the skies of Tehran, while reports indicated a point in Kangavar district of Kermanshah province was targeted in a missile attack.

Iran's Broadcasting Authority confirmed hearing four explosions in the city of Chabahar, while Iranian authorities have not yet announced the nature of the targeted sites or the extent of the damage.

In contrast, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the completion of the eleventh consecutive night of military strikes against Iran, confirming targeting military operations centers, naval capabilities, aircraft hangars, drone warehouses, and military logistics facilities.

The command said the strikes aim to continue weakening Iran's ability to threaten commercial navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, noting that Tehran has attacked more than 30 commercial vessels during their transit of the international waterway over the past three months.

CENTCOM confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz remains open to navigation, explaining that its forces have contributed since the beginning of May to securing the transit of about 900 commercial ships and about 450 million barrels of crude oil through the strait.
