The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the statements made by the Houthi group against the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which included threats to impose a maritime navigation ban on it.

In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to ensure the implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216 on Yemen and Resolution 2722 concerning the rights and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.

The Ministry affirmed that freedom of navigation in international waterways is a fundamental right guaranteed by international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982, stressing its rejection of any attempts to undermine this right.

The Ministry expressed the UAE's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its complete support for all measures taken to preserve its security and stability.
