US Central Command Announces Strikes on Iranian Command Centers and Disruption of Oil Tanker
The US Central Command announced that the military has completed the latest wave of strikes on Iran, following directives from US President Donald Trump.
The command revealed that US forces bombed Iranian command centers, air defense system sites, missile and drone capabilities, as well as coastal surveillance facilities.
The strikes extended to targets in Bandar Abbas, which hosts Iran's largest port and key facilities of the Iranian navy and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on the Strait of Hormuz.
In a separate development, the Central Command announced that the US military disabled an empty oil tanker that was attempting to sail toward an Iranian port despite receiving multiple warnings, in an effort to break the imposed blockade.
It explained that a US aircraft targeted the tanker with Hellfire missiles that hit its smokestack, halting its voyage, confirming that the vessel no longer poses a threat after its attempt to violate US measures in the region was thwarted.
