Tom Homan, the border chief in President Donald Trump's administration, announced that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency will require its agents to operate at least one body camera during vehicle stops, following deadly shooting incidents involving agency personnel.

Homan said on 'Fox & Friends Weekend': 'These cameras exonerate more law enforcement officers than they convict, and I want officers to wear body cameras because I want the American people to see what officers see when they take those actions.'

Homan's remarks came after two men were shot dead by federal immigration enforcement agents during two stops in Texas and Maine earlier this month. Body camera recordings were absent from both incidents, as the participating agents were not carrying the devices.

In a separate interview with CBS, Homan revealed that funding for the cameras was stalled by the partial government shutdown earlier this year, confirming that the purchase was already completed, and training for trainers is currently underway in preparation for nationwide deployment.
