US military launches new wave of strikes on Iran
The US military has launched a new wave of strikes on Iran, stating that it aims to undermine Tehran's ability to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
The US Central Command announced in a statement that its forces began at 21:00 GMT a new round of strikes against Iranian targets, to undermine their ability to attack commercial ships and civilian sailors who freely transit the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement added that US President Donald Trump issued the orders to carry out these strikes to 'hold Iranian forces accountable'.
