The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the death of a US soldier in northern Iraq on July 18, during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from an Iranian suicide drone that had been shot down earlier.

The command clarified that another US soldier suffered minor injuries during the operation and is still receiving medical treatment, stressing that his condition is not a cause for concern.

In a separate development, CENTCOM revealed updates on the Iranian attack targeting US forces in Jordan on July 17, noting that military search teams earlier today found unidentified remains at the attack site, while examination and identification processes are ongoing.

The Central Command had announced yesterday the deaths of two US soldiers and the disappearance of a third as a result of the Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack in Jordan.

CENTCOM confirmed that it would withhold any additional information, including the identities of the killed and missing, out of respect for their families until official notification procedures are completed.
