U.S. Central Command announces death of one of its soldiers in northern Iraq
The U.S. Central Command said that one of the American soldiers was killed yesterday, Saturday, "during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance" in northern Iraq.
It added in a statement issued today, Sunday, that the ordnance belonged to "an Iranian attack drone that was shot down."

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard had targeted an American base in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, amid the ongoing war with the United States and Israel.
The Guard said in a statement published on its channel on the Telegram application: "The headquarters of the American army in Harir Air Base in the Kurdistan Region was targeted with five missiles," according to the statement.
