Far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on Monday stormed the entrance of the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, accompanied by a number of settlers.

The official Palestinian news agency Wafa quoted deputy head of Al-Mughayyir village council Marzouq Abu Na'im as saying that Ben-Gvir stormed the village entrance with a number of settlers.

The agency did not provide additional details regarding the duration of the incursion or accompanying measures, while the Israeli side issued no comment on the incident.

Al-Mughayyir and surrounding villages and towns are subjected to repeated attacks by Israeli settlers, including assaults on Palestinians and their property, as well as ongoing incursions by Israeli army forces, according to local sources.

Ben-Gvir's incursion comes amid rising tensions in the West Bank, where since October 8, 2023, the region has seen a continuous escalation of attacks by the Israeli army and settlers against Palestinians and their property.

Israeli attacks since then have resulted in the deaths of 1,179 Palestinians, injuries to about 13,000, and the arrest of nearly 24,000, according to official Palestinian figures.

Palestinians say these attacks also include vandalism and demolition of homes and facilities, bulldozing of agricultural land, preventing farmers from accessing it, displacement of Palestinians, and settlement expansion on their lands.
