The Israeli army on Tuesday demolished a home and arrested several Palestinians in various parts of the occupied West Bank, while settlers carried out bulldozing and vandalism of agricultural property in Ramallah and Nablus governorates.
These developments coincided with the erection of military checkpoints in Bethlehem governorate, amid ongoing Israeli operations and settler attacks across the West Bank.
In Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that settlers accompanied by a bulldozer stormed the outskirts of al-Tira neighborhood in Ramallah city, from the direction of Ein Qiniya village northwest of the city, and began bulldozing.
The agency added that Israeli forces stormed Deir Jarir village east of Ramallah, assaulted Palestinian Adham Nafez Zaidani, and detained Fakhri Fahmi Alawi.
Israeli forces also arrested two Palestinians after storming Umm al-Sharayet neighborhood in al-Bireh city.
In Jerusalem governorate, the governorate said in a statement that Israeli forces stormed al-Ram town north of the city and arrested a Palestinian whose identity has not yet been identified.
In the southern West Bank, Israeli forces demolished a home in Khirbet Umm al-Khair in Masafer Yatta south of Hebron, according to WAFA.
The agency quoted Palestinian activist Ahmad al-Hathalin as saying that the home, built of brick and tin and measuring 60 square meters, housed eight members of Ammar al-Hathalin's family.
Al-Hathalin said the demolitions come under settler pressure, as part of attempts to displace Palestinians and seize their land.
In Bethlehem governorate, local sources told Anadolu correspondent that Israeli forces set up two military checkpoints: one in al-Shouli area at the entrance to the western countryside, and another at the entrance to Joret al-Sham'a village in the south of the governorate.
The forces stopped vehicles, searched them, and checked Palestinians' IDs, causing a traffic jam, and prevented residents from entering or leaving the village, according to the same sources.
In Nablus governorate, settlers attacked Burin town south of the city, destroying plastic greenhouses located on the main street belonging to the 'Ard wa Zar'a Cooperative' association.
The settler attacks are part of an Israeli escalation in West Bank villages, involving the burning of homes, vehicles, and farmland, and assaults on Palestinians, especially in areas adjacent to settlements and outposts.
According to a report by the Commission of Resistance to the Wall and Settlements, issued on July 6, settlers committed 3,488 attacks in the first half of this year, including attacking Palestinian villages, burning homes, opening fire, seizing land, and establishing outposts, resulting in the killing of 17 Palestinians.
About 750,000 settlers live in 141 settlements and 224 outposts in the West Bank, including 250,000 in East Jerusalem, while Palestinian authorities and human rights organizations accuse settlers of carrying out daily attacks aimed at displacing Palestinians and seizing more land.
This comes as the West Bank has seen an escalation in attacks by the Israeli army and settlers since October 2023, resulting, according to official Palestinian data, in the killing of 1,179 Palestinians and the injury of about 13,000, in addition to the arrest of nearly 24,000 Palestinians.
