Six Palestinians from one family were injured on Friday in an assault by settlers involving beatings and pepper spray, while the Israeli army arrested three of their relatives in the Hawareh cluster in Masafer Yatta south of Hebron.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said in a statement that its crews treated six injuries, including an elderly man, women and children, in the Hawareh cluster and transferred them to hospital.
In a statement to Anadolu, anti-settlement activist Osama Makhamra said that settlers attacked the family of elderly Ibrahim Ismail Al-Jabour (80) while they were on their land near their home.
He added that the settlers attacked them with beatings and sprayed pepper spray in their faces, injuring the elderly man and a number of women and children.
Makhamra said that the Israeli army provided protection for the settlers before arresting Qasim Ibrahim Al-Jabour, Yasser Yusuf Al-Jabour, and Ibrahim Omar Al-Jabour.
According to the Palestinian Commission against the Wall and Settlement Activities, settlers carried out 3,488 attacks in the West Bank during the first half of this year, resulting in 17 Palestinian deaths.
Since October 8, 2023, Israeli army and settler attacks in the West Bank have killed 1,179 Palestinians, injured 12,666 others, and arrested approximately 24,000.
