Today, Saturday, Yemeni Presidential Council Chairman Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi held an expanded meeting with Yemen's ambassadors and heads of its diplomatic missions abroad, in the presence of the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Shaya al-Zindani.

At the outset of the meeting, al-Alimi expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its diplomatic missions in representing the Yemeni state and serving its citizens and national interests abroad, stressing that the responsibility of diplomatic missions at this critical stage goes beyond the traditional concept of representation, becoming an integral part of the battle to defend the Yemeni Republic, its sovereignty, and its legitimate institutions.

He explained that recent developments have proven that national battles are no longer fought only on the ground, but have extended to various capitals, international organizations, media outlets, and decision-making centers, adding: "Therefore, the success of any military or political battle has become linked to our ability to win the international position, consolidate the national narrative, and protect the truth from disinformation campaigns."

Al-Alimi touched on the measures taken by the state in recent days to deal with the latest Houthi escalation politically, diplomatically, and militarily, saying: "We have succeeded so far in shifting this development from an attempt to portray it as an incident of operating a humanitarian flight, to an issue that affects the sovereignty of a UN member state, and a real test of the international community's ability to respect its rules and enforce its resolutions."

He affirmed that the Yemeni government has sensed increasing understanding from many brotherly and friendly countries, noting the need to build on this momentum to enhance opportunities for international support for the legitimate government and the Yemeni people's aspirations for security, stability, and peace.

Al-Alimi presented the heads of diplomatic missions with the priorities of the next phase, foremost of which is working to double the international isolation of the Houthi militias, and respecting the sovereignty of the Yemeni state and its legal status without harming the interests of the Yemeni people and their humanitarian priorities.

He stressed that restoring state institutions is the only path to achieving lasting peace, noting that the government's welcome of any humanitarian effort, including the recent Jordanian initiative, reflects the state's openness to all initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of citizens, but he emphasized: "The state will not allow any flights outside its exclusive jurisdiction, and the Houthis have no choice but to accept these alternatives and prioritize the interests of the Yemeni people over their narrow interests."

Al-Alimi directed the diplomatic missions to continue dismantling the misleading Houthi narratives with arguments, facts, and provisions of international law, away from emotional discourse, while highlighting the grave human rights violations committed by the militias, and their vision based on entrenching racism and undermining the principle of a state based on justice, rule of law, and equal citizenship.

Attending the meeting were Director of the Presidency Office Dr. Yahya al-Shuaibi, Minister of Information Muammar al-Eryani, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Afrah al-Zouba, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Mustafa Numan.
