A new Moroccan star has entered Al-Ittihad's list of interests to sign him during the current summer transfer window, finding himself in competition with his compatriot Azzedine Ounahi.

Media reports had revealed Al-Ittihad's desire to sign Ounahi from Girona during the current summer transfer window, given its need to strengthen the midfield before the start of the next season.

The Saudi newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reported a report from Turkish Fanatik, which revealed Al-Ittihad's desire to sign the other Moroccan, Sofyan Amrabat, Fenerbahçe midfielder, during the summer transfer window.

Al-Ittihad has not yet sent its official offer, as Al-Qadsiah preceded it by offering the Turkish club 20 million euros in exchange for giving up its Moroccan player.

The 'Tigers' offer is expected to be close to the offer sent by Al-Qadsiah, leading the Saudi duo into a strong battle to sign Amrabat.

Fenerbahçe has not yet decided on Amrabat's departure, as it is studying the offers received, as well as the impact of his absence from the squad next season.

Al-Ittihad has been linked with many midfield players, given its urgent need to strengthen this position, such as Egyptians Imam Ashour and Marwan Attia, Al-Ahly stars, and Nigerian Raphael Onyedika, Club Brugge player.
