Al Ahli club officially announced the signing of Portuguese winger Francisco Trincão from Sporting Lisbon during the current summer transfer window, on a four-year contract, as part of strengthening the squad ahead of upcoming competitions.

The club's official account on platform "X" published a video introducing the player, showing him signing his contract to join the champion of the AFC Champions League Elite for the last two editions. Al Ahli also revealed that Trincão will wear shirt number 7, previously held by Algerian star Riyad Mahrez before his departure from the team this summer.

Trincão is distinguished by his ability to play in multiple attacking positions, along with his technical potential and ability to make a difference on the pitch. Trincão has an impressive record with Sporting Lisbon, having played 208 matches for the Portuguese club, scoring 47 goals and providing 51 assists in 15,700 minutes of play. He previously represented Barcelona in 42 matches, scoring three goals and providing two assists, in addition to his stint with Sporting Braga, where he participated in 48 matches with the first team, scoring 9 goals and providing 12 assists, as well as a loan spell at Wolverhampton in England. Throughout his professional career, Trincão has played 327 official matches, scoring 62 goals and providing 57 assists, confirming his status as one of the most prominent attacking wingers in Europe. The player also has a decorated record of titles, having won the UEFA Nations League (2024-2025), won the Portuguese League twice consecutively with Sporting Lisbon, in addition to the Portuguese Cup and the Portuguese League Cup, and previously won the Copa del Rey with Barcelona in the 2020-2021 season. On an individual level, Trincão ended the 2025-2026 season as the top assist provider in the Portuguese League.
