Al-Ahly club announced on Saturday the official signing of Portuguese Francisco Trincão to join the first football team, according to the club's account on the microblogging platform X. Al-Ahly published a video of the signing with the midfielder and wrote: 'From the land of sailors... he came to dive into the depths of history. Welcome Trincão.' The 'Al-Riyadiya - Urgent' account on X had revealed on Monday that Trincão had passed the medical examination in his country, ahead of signing a contract with Al-Ahly, and revealed the signing with the player in another tweet early Saturday, stating: 'Portuguese Francisco Trincão, Sporting Lisbon player, signed a four-year contract with Al-Ahly in Norway moments ago, in the presence of his compatriot Rui Pedro, the sporting director of the Jeddawi club.' The management of the Jeddawi club had finalized its agreement with Sporting Lisbon to purchase Trincão's contract, as part of its moves to strengthen the team's attacking options before the start of the new sports season. Trincão (26 years old) began his professional career with Braga in his country, then moved to Barcelona in 2020, before being loaned to English Wolverhampton and Portuguese Sporting Lisbon, which later bought his contract in 2023. Last season, Francisco played 54 matches in various competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing 18 assists.
