Al-Ahli's first football team lost 1-4 to German side Holstein Kiel on Wednesday in their second friendly match during their ongoing camp in Austria, as part of their preparations for the new season. Al-Ahli opened the scoring through Brazilian Ricardo Matias in the 21st minute, before conceding two goals in the first half and two more in the second. German coach Matthias Jaissle relied on two different lineups during the match, starting with the same lineup that crushed Austrian side Bintzau Zalfelden 8-0 in the first friendly, which consisted of: Salman Al-Jad'ani in goal, Zakaria Hawsawi, Belgian Mathew Dams, Mohammed Suleiman Bakr, Mohammed Abdulrahman, Frenchman Valentin Atangana, his compatriot Enzo Mio, Saleh Abu Al-Shamat, Armenian Eduard Spertsyan, Brazilian Mateus Goncalves, and his compatriot Ricardo Matias. The German coach made only one substitution after 15 minutes, bringing on Saad Balobaid instead of Zakaria Hawsawi. At the start of the second half, Jaissle made 10 changes, bringing on: Ali Bakhshwen in goal, Osama Al-Daghma, Rayan Hamed, Wael Al-Jahni, Ziyad Al-Mulla, Faisal Flatata, Salem Abdullah, Yassin Al-Zubaidi, Mishal Al-Mutairi, and Musa Abu Bakr in place of Al-Jad'ani, Abu Al-Shamat, Dams, Bakr, Abdulrahman, Atangana, Spertsyan, Enzo Mio, Goncalves, and Matias.
