Al Ahly Extends Taher's Contract
The Egyptian club Al Ahly announced on Sunday the extension of Taher Mohamed Taher's contract, a first-team football player, until 2029. The Red Team issued a press statement on its official Facebook account stating: 'Taher Mohamed Taher's contract has been extended for two years, allowing him to continue his journey with the team, after his current contract period became three seasons.' The statement added: 'The contract extension came after a meeting that brought together the player, Wael Gomaa, director of football, and Essam Sarag El-Din, head of the contracts department, where agreement was reached on all the terms of the new contract and the completion of all administrative and financial procedures.' Taher, who can play in multiple attacking positions, expressed his happiness at extending his contract, stating through a statement reported by the club's official website his appreciation for the Al Ahly fans, to whom he owes a lot, stressing that he will do his utmost with his teammates to make the fans happy and achieve championships and victories befitting the club. Taher, 29, began his career in the youth sector of Al Mokawloon Al Arab, had a short professional stint with French side Le Havre in 2016, before returning to Al Mokawloon Al Arab, then moving to Al Ahly in the summer of 2020, and has also represented the Egyptian senior national team and the Olympic team.
