Alvarez? Double threat for Atletico Madrid star in World Cup final
The last training session of the Argentine national team, before the World Cup final against Spain, saw a 45-minute delay due to the same thunderstorm that caused the stoppage of the 'Matador' training.
After the weather improved, the 'Tango' players began their training at the New York Red Bulls training center in Morrison.
According to 'AS' newspaper, the distribution of training bibs by coach Lionel Scaloni revealed three options for the only position still in doubt in the starting lineup: the right wing in midfield.
Along with the players who started against England, including Giuliano Simeone, Scaloni gave training bibs to Rodrigo De Paul and Giovani Lo Celso, the other two options for that position.
De Paul was the usual starter in that position until the World Cup semifinal, while Lo Celso performed well when he played there during the tournament.
It is still unknown which of the three options Scaloni will rely on in the World Cup final.
Therefore, Giuliano Simeone's inclusion in the starting lineup is not guaranteed, as he faces a double threat from De Paul and Lo Celso ahead of the anticipated match against Spain.
