The local organising committee for the Saudi Arabia 2027 AFC Asian Cup has strengthened its record of operational excellence by receiving the Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for 2026, one of the oldest global awards in the field of health and safety, in recognition of its commitment to applying the highest standards in the management and organisation of sports tournaments and events.

The awards ceremony was held in the British capital London, organised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), a leading global body in occupational health and safety headquartered in the United Kingdom.

This recognition came after a year in which the local committee managed a number of major football tournaments and events, including the 2026 AFC U-23 Asian Cup, the 2026 AFC Champions League Elite Finals, the 2026 AFC U-17 Asian Cup, as well as organising the draw ceremony for the Saudi Arabia 2027 AFC Asian Cup and the draw ceremony for the Arabian Gulf Cup 'Gulf 27'.

This achievement confirms the efficiency of the work led by the local committee at various stages of planning, organisation, and implementation, and its commitment to establishing a culture of health and safety as an essential part of the success of operational processes, in line with internationally approved best practices.

The local committee continues its preparations to host the Saudi Arabia 2027 AFC Asian Cup, which the Kingdom will host from 7 January to 5 February 2027 in the cities of Riyadh, Jeddah, and Alkhobar, with the participation of 24 teams competing in 51 matches, in the first edition of the tournament held in the Kingdom.

The committee also continues its preparations to organise the Arabian Gulf Cup 'Gulf 27', which will be hosted by the city of Jeddah from 23 September to 6 October 2026, as part of a series of tournaments that reflect the growing status of the Kingdom on the map of hosting major sporting events.
