The Local Organizing Committee for the Saudi Arabia 2027 Asian Cup has won the Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for 2026, one of the most prestigious global awards in occupational health and safety, in recognition of its commitment to applying the highest standards in the management and organization of sports tournaments and events.

The awards ceremony was held in the British capital London, organized by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), the leading global authority in occupational health and safety based in the United Kingdom.

This recognition came after a busy year in which the local committee managed a number of major football tournaments, including: the 2026 AFC U-23 Asian Cup, the 2026 AFC Champions League Elite Finals, and the 2026 AFC U-17 Asian Cup, in addition to organizing the draw ceremony for the Saudi Arabia 2027 Asian Cup and the draw ceremony for the Arabian Gulf Cup 'Gulf 27'.

This achievement underscores the efficiency of the work led by the local committee in all stages of planning, organization, and execution, and its commitment to establishing a culture of health and safety as a cornerstone of the operational system, in line with internationally approved best practices.

The local committee continues its preparations to host the Saudi Arabia 2027 Asian Cup, which the Kingdom will host from January 7 to February 5, 2027, in the cities of Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al Khobar, with the participation of 24 teams competing in 51 matches, in the first edition of the tournament to be held on Saudi soil.

In the same context, the committee is preparing to organize the Arabian Gulf Cup 'Gulf 27', which the city of Jeddah will host from September 23 to October 6, 2026, as part of a series of major tournaments that reflect the Kingdom's growing status on the map of hosting international sporting events.

This award comes as an extension of the local committee's journey in developing a safe work environment and enhancing the efficiency of operational processes, supporting its readiness to organize a continental tournament that reflects the Kingdom's aspirations and growing sporting status at the regional and international levels.
