Al Qadsiah announced the appointment of Giles Barnes as head coach of the women's first football team, which has entered an external preparatory camp hosted by the Spanish cities of Malaga and Girona, from July 20 to August 14, as part of the preparation program for the 2026-2027 sports season. Barnes has a distinguished coaching record, having contributed during his tenure with Orlando Pride to winning the US women's league title, along with the league shield, and led the team to a league record after achieving 18 victories in a single season. The camp aims to raise the technical and physical readiness of the players and enhance harmony among the team members through an integrated training program that includes intensive and varied training sessions, in addition to holding a number of friendly matches, which contributes to implementing the technical staff's vision and achieving the highest levels of readiness before the start of the new season. The team is preparing to compete in three competitions during the sports season: the Saudi Women's Premier League, the Saudi Women's Federation Cup, and the Premier Challenge Cup, striving to continue providing competitive levels that reflect the team's development and ambitions.
