Candidacy Applications Open for Saudi Football Federation

The General Committee for the Elections of the Saudi Football Federation began on Wednesday receiving applications for candidacy for the position of president and membership of the Board of Directors, as part of the electoral procedures to choose a new leadership for the federation.

The Saudi Football Federation had announced on July 12 the formation of the election committee headed by Ahmed Abdullah Al-Qunai'an (Chairman of the Appeals Committee), and membership of Bandar Abdulhadi Al-Hamidani, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ban'ama, Dr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Al-Fadli, and Issa Rabi Al-Rais (Secretary of the Committee). The formation came based on the provisions of the Federation's statute and the election regulations.

The committee is tasked with overseeing the entire electoral process, including examining candidacy applications and verifying that candidates meet the previously announced statutory conditions, in preparation for announcing the final lists and holding the elections on the scheduled date. The opening of candidacy comes after the resignation of Yasser Al-Mishal from the presidency of the federation, and as part of efforts to select a new board of directors to lead Saudi football in the upcoming stage. Applications will be received according to the timeline and procedures approved by the committee, with an emphasis on the need to submit complete files meeting all required conditions and documents.
