Champions League disrupts Milan and Fenerbahce negotiations over Leao
Press reports have stated that Portuguese Rafael Leao, the Italian Milan player, is inclined to reject the offer from Turkish Fenerbahce because he wants to join a team participating in the Champions League.
According to Milan News website, Leao is inclined to reject the latest offer from Fenerbahce, even if it amounts to 8 million euros annually plus bonuses up to 4 million euros linked to performance.
Turkish Todai newspaper had reported that Galatasaray, which will participate in the Champions League next year after winning the Turkish league last season, is seeking to sign Leao as it has made an offer to the player to contract him.
The player and his club strongly desire to part ways this summer, as they both feel his career with Milan has reached its peak, and there is no intention to discuss a new contract at San Siro.
While both were expecting clubs to flock with offers, that did not happen, except for clubs from the Saudi Professional League and the Turkish Süper Lig.
Leao recently participated with the Portuguese national team in the 2026 World Cup, but he was not a starter in the lineup of Spanish coach Roberto Martinez, as the team exited the tournament in the round of 16.
