U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he has not yet made up his mind about launching a 'large-scale attack' on Iran, considering that Tehran is showing a 'more serious' stance in negotiations.

This came in a press statement on Friday at the White House regarding the conflict between the United States and Iran and the possibility of reaching an agreement.

In response to a question about continuing attacks on Iran, he said: 'I have not yet decided on launching large-scale attacks against Iran; they are showing day by day a more serious stance in the negotiations.'

Trump mentioned that he 'trusts' the promises made to him by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding Iran.

Earlier today, Trump said that the Chinese and Russian presidents promised him not to supply or sell weapons to Iran, warning that any such step would not be in the interest of the two countries.

For about two weeks, the United States has been launching raids inside Iran, while Tehran responds with attacks using missiles and drones on military bases, facilities, and sites it says are linked to Washington in countries in the region.

The escalation comes despite Washington and Tehran signing a memorandum of understanding last June that included a cessation of hostilities and the start of negotiations to reach a broader agreement to end the war that Israel and the United States began on February 28 of last year.

However, Trump announced on July 8 of this month the end of the ceasefire, following attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz that Washington accused Tehran of being behind.

Washington demands that Tehran stop attacking ships and ensure freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, while Iran insists on subjecting the passage of ships to a mechanism it regulates through the waterway overlooking its coasts, exacerbating fears of disruption of oil and gas exports from the region.
