FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022: Germany arrive in Doha and prepare for first training at Al Shamal Stadium
Doha, November 17 (QNA) - The German national football team delegation arrived in Doha today to participate in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which kicks off next Sunday.
The German team, winners of four World Cup titles, headed to their accommodation at the Zulal Wellness Resort, and will conduct their training at Al Shamal Stadium.
Before arriving in Doha, the German team played a final friendly match against the Omani team in Muscat yesterday, which ended with a 1-0 victory.
Coach Hansi Flick revealed the German squad for the World Cup, which saw the return of Mario Götze, the scorer of the winning goal against Argentina in the 2014 Brazil World Cup final, after a five-year absence from the team, while German player Marco Reus, captain of Borussia Dortmund, and his teammate Mats Hummels are missing from the 26-player list. Youngsters Youssoufa Moukoko and Niclas Füllkrug were also included for the first time in the German national team squad.
It is worth noting that the German team plays in Group E of the World Cup, which includes alongside it Japan, Costa Rica, and Spain. They will start their matches in the tournament against Japan next Wednesday at Khalifa International Stadium.
