Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo is close to completing his official move to Dutch club Ajax after successfully passing his medical.

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported that Ajax's medical staff gave the green light on Monday evening to finalize the contract with Marcos Leonardo after he passed all medical examinations without any issues.

The Brazilian striker arrived in the Netherlands late Sunday evening before undergoing the medical on Monday, which yielded results as expected.

According to the report, only the legal procedures for the contracts between Al Hilal, Ajax, and the player remain to be completed, with the official announcement expected in the coming hours.

Marcos Leonardo's numbers at Al Hilal

Al Hilal signed Marcos Leonardo from Portuguese club Benfica in January 2024 for a fee of around €40 million, on a five-year contract.

During his time at Al Hilal, the Brazilian striker played 82 matches in all competitions, scoring 48 goals and providing 5 assists, leaving a notable attacking mark on the club.

The past winter transfer window saw interest from Spanish club Atlético Madrid in securing Marcos Leonardo on loan, but the deal did not go through, and the player ultimately decided to embark on a new experience with Ajax.
