Milan retains Modric's experience with new contract

Italian football club AC Milan announced on Thursday the renewal of its Croatian player Luka Modric's contract.

Modric's contract had expired at the end of last June, but the Italian club revealed the renewal of the player's contract until June 30, 2027.

Milan explained in a statement on its official website that Modric established himself as a star and a key midfielder, praising his vast experience that served the team last season both on and off the field.

Milan described the Croatian star as one of the best players in the world of football, confirming that he will continue his career with the red and black team, after having played 37 matches for them last season and scored two goals.

Milan said that the player will continue to wear the number 14 shirt, which he has worn since joining the team last season on a free transfer following his departure from Spanish club Real Madrid, after 13 years spent at the Santiago Bernabéu.
