Ordos / China, July 11 / QNA / Qatari national team athlete Saifeldin Mohamed won the gold medal in the pole vault competition today at the Asian Athletics U23 Championships held in Ordos, China.

Saifeldin Mohamed recorded a height of 5.54 meters, the best mark of the competition in this category, to finish first and claim the fifth medal for the Qatari team at the championship, following gold medals by Hathem Hameed in the 800m and Zakaria Ibrahim in the 3000m, a silver by Ahmed Gabrin in the shot put, and a bronze by Salah Younis in the 100m.

Qatar Athletics participates in the championship with a group of promising runners in the U23 Olympic category: Saifeldin Mohamed (pole vault), Ahmed Gabrin (shot put), Khaled Hussein (400m and 4x400m relay), Zakaria Ibrahim (3000m steeplechase and 1500m), Hathem Hameed (800m and 4x400m relay), Salah Younis (100m), Omar Dawood (110m hurdles), Abdulrahman Mohamed (400m hurdles and 4x400m relay), and Mubarak Abdulkarim (400m and 4x400m relay).
