The sixth Shagra Pepper Festival kicks off on Thursday in its largest edition since inception, offering over 20 activities and interactive experiences combining agriculture, heritage, and entertainment. The event aims to highlight the status of Shagra pepper as one of the most prominent local agricultural products and turn the festival into an integrated summer destination for families and visitors. The festival's activities are distributed across several corners that reflect the agricultural and heritage identity of the governorate, including the Farmers' Exhibition and Farm Experience to introduce the journey of pepper cultivation and production, along with the Pepper Auction which serves as the economic front of the festival, witnessing direct buying and selling between farmers and shoppers. The festival takes visitors on a journey through Shagra's history via the Shagra Heritage and History Exhibition, the Shagra Storyteller corner, in addition to folk art performances and chants that embody the cultural heritage of the governorate in a traditional atmosphere. Families have a large share of the activities, as the festival includes a children's theater, roaming shows, a challenges and games area, along with a set of entertainment activities, in addition to the families and rest area that provides a suitable environment for enjoyable times. The festival also offers an integrated experience for visitors through the restaurants and cafes area, food trucks, the hospitality tent, in addition to the participation of artisans and productive families, within a diverse program that combines entertainment, culture, and agriculture, and enhances Shagra's position as a tourist and agricultural destination during the summer season.
