The Saudi Football Federation, represented by the Women’s Football Department, announced the opening of the summer registration period for players on Saturday, in preparation for the 2026-2027 sports season. The summer registration period for women’s football players lasts approximately 45 days, starting from July 18 to August 31, a step that allows clubs to complete the registration procedures for professional and amateur players and finalize their new contracts before the start of official competitions. The registration period gives clubs the opportunity to strengthen their women’s teams, whether by signing local players or foreign professionals, in addition to registering transferred players and renewing the registration of current members, according to the Saudi Football Federation’s regulations for women’s competitions. The opening of the registration window coincides with clubs’ preparations for the new season, which features strong competition in various women’s tournaments, most notably the Saudi Women’s Premier League, the First Division League, as well as the cup and age-group tournaments, as part of the federation’s continued plan to develop women’s football and raise the level of technical competition. Ten clubs participate in the Women’s Premier League, up from eight last season, led by Al-Nassr, which has won all four previous editions of the league, along with Al-Ahli, Al-Ittihad, Al-Qadsiah, Al-Hilal, Al-Ula, Neom, and the promoted teams Al-Taraji, Al-Nahda, and Al-Amal.
