Fear of Price Hikes Drives Demand for Galaxy S26
Demand for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is seeing a notable increase as consumers grow increasingly concerned about rising electronics prices globally.
According to Korean media reports, Samsung boosted production of Galaxy S26 devices by an additional 1.5 million units in July, exceeding its previous forecasts to meet domestic and global demand.
This wave is linked to concerns about a potential price increase for the upcoming Galaxy S27 series next year, due to rising memory chip costs in global markets.
Industry sources indicate that memory manufacturers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron are directing a larger share of their production to major AI companies, leading to a supply shortage of memory chips for consumer devices and driving up their prices.
Samsung increases Galaxy S26 production after record sales in Korea.
It is worth noting that Samsung's mobile division purchases memory chips at the same prices as other companies like Apple, and does not receive preferential pricing despite being part of the same group, leaving the option of raising device prices as the most likely to maintain profit margins.
To boost demand, Samsung launched special promotional campaigns in the Korean market to encourage consumers to purchase Galaxy S26 devices, while prices remain unchanged so far with no official adjustments, amid anticipation of what the next generation may bring.
