Samsung has introduced a new feature in the Galaxy Watch aimed at supporting the safety of workers exposed to the risk of heat stress while working in hot outdoor conditions.

This was achieved through an integrated system developed by the company in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor of South Korea, which relies on combining environmental and biometric data to monitor the condition of workers at work sites.

The system collects information such as temperature, humidity, physical activity level, and heart rate through the watch's sensors, and then analyzes the data to estimate the worker's degree of exposure to heat stress risk.

In the event of a high risk level, an alert appears on the supervisor's control panel with appropriate recommendations based on officially approved phased work stoppage criteria. The supervisor can also send a direct notification to the worker's watch about the need to stop and take a break when the perceived temperature exceeds 33 degrees Celsius.

Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 7 receive the new July 2026 security update.

This system is currently being implemented in semiconductor production line construction projects at the Pyeongtaek complex, and Samsung plans to expand its use to include more work sites, making it a replicable model for other institutions that rely on outdoor work in hot weather.

This step aims to reduce exposure to risks associated with heatwaves and provide practical and effective support for field workers.
