Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max May Feature New Kirin LogicFolding Chip
A new leak reveals that Huawei is preparing to launch its entirely new Kirin LogicFolding processor this year, and the Mate 90 Pro Max is expected to be the first flagship device to feature this innovative chip.
According to Chinese sources, Huawei plans to use the Kirin 5G chip built on LogicFolding technology only in the higher-end versions of the Mate 90 series, while continuing to use traditional Kirin chips for other models.
The anticipated chip strategy for the Mate 90 series based on leaks:
Mate 90 Pro Max and Mate 90 RS Ultimate: Kirin 9050 Pro or new LogicFolding processor
Mate 90 Pro: Kirin 9050 processor
Mate 90 base model: Kirin 9050s processor
Foldable phones (such as Mate XT 2 triple-fold and Mate X8 dual-fold): Kirin 9050 Pro processor
The Kirin 9050s processor is expected to be an upgrade over the previous Kirin 9030 Pro, while the LogicFolding SoC boasts a significant leap in AI and energy efficiency compared to previous generations.
This information suggests that Huawei is adopting a new approach to distributing its processors across multiple models, with higher-end versions receiving the latest technology while lower-end versions retain current or previous-generation chips.
Huawei Mate 90 is poised to achieve a qualitative leap in display and processor technologies
So far, these plans have not been officially confirmed by Huawei, but more details are expected to be revealed in the coming months before the launch of the Mate 90 series, which carries major bets on enhancing performance and AI capabilities in the Chinese flagship phone market.
