New leaks reveal that Apple is currently testing a screen measuring close to 7 inches (approximately 6.96 inches), which may be officially marketed as the largest screen in the history of its phones with the expected 20th anniversary iPhone release in 2027.

According to the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, the new screen uses the same aspect ratio as the current iPhone 17 Pro Max, but it is not yet confirmed whether it will become an official option in the iPhone 20 Pro Max release or remain experimental.

The 20th anniversary phone is expected to feature a modern design with an edge-to-edge screen and glass curves on all sides, creating a display experience nearly free of visible bezels.

This move comes after the last increase in screen sizes within the iPhone 16 Pro family in 2024.

It is worth noting that this year's models (iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max) will retain the same screen sizes as the iPhone 17 Pro, i.e., 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches.

Today's leaks are the first to explicitly indicate Apple's intention to compete in the very large screen category with a new leap for the 'iPhone 20'.
