Social networks Instagram and Facebook, both owned by Meta, appeared to experience outages on Sunday, with users reporting problems with both the app and the website.

Downdetector, a website that tracks internet service outages and disruptions, reported 4,808 complaints from Facebook users in the United States by 07:46 GMT, with 63 percent of users experiencing issues accessing the website.
