Facebook and Instagram, both owned by Meta, experienced a technical outage that prevented many users from accessing their accounts in several countries.

Downdetector, a website that monitors online service disruptions, reported that the outage began at approximately 3:25 AM Eastern Time, with thousands of complaints about access issues on both platforms, while intermittent outages were recorded in some Asian countries.

Users reported being unable to log in, load pages and posts, as well as problems uploading photos and sending messages. Meanwhile, the Facebook app on smartphones continued to function without significant impact from the outage.
