Through its blog, Telegram indicated that it has taken another step towards openness by launching an API and platform for third-party developers to create bots. Today's update, Telegram 3.0, on all operating systems including desktop, Android, and iOS, etc., makes interacting with bots extremely easy. In most cases, you won't have to type anything because bots provide a set of custom buttons.

Thus, the bot provides a custom keyboard for specialized tasks, for example, the image below:

Here is a sample of some bots that were built during a beta test of the platform last weekend:

ImageBot: Sending this bot keywords will provide you with a relevant image.

PollBot: For creating polls or surveys in group chats.

RateStickerBot: Discover new stickers.

AlertBot: This bot is for setting a reminder so you don't forget.

HotOrBot: For finding friends.

GithubBot: To follow GitHub updates.

StoreBot: To find new bots and have them rated.

Creating a new bot is extremely easy. Just create a key with BotFather and use the HTTPS API to control your bot. Once you have launched a bot, you will see it spreading on Telegram, meaning that forwarded messages contain a link to the original sender.

In addition, all bots have an ability to be added to a group and a share button in the profile. You can set a description and a link that will be used when users share the bot on Telegram or other platforms. Starting today, you will see bots on Telegram and elsewhere built on them, providing services such as polls, news, games, and electronic services, etc.

Regarding the Telegram update on iOS, it brought support for the Apple Watch, as well as the ability to search for users by their usernames directly from the home screen.
