Uber announced the expansion of its food delivery service in the region, launching Uber Eats in Jeddah. Residents can now download the app and order meals from their favorite restaurants with ease, delivered to their location.

Uber Eats first launched in Saudi Arabia a year ago, when it was introduced in Riyadh in February 2018. Jeddah now becomes the second city in the kingdom to receive the service, joining over 350 cities worldwide where Uber Eats operates.

Damian Draa, General Manager of Uber Eats for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, said: 'The launch of Uber Eats in Jeddah is clear evidence of the app's growing popularity in the region. We are delighted to offer Uber Eats to food lovers in Jeddah, and I am confident it will impress them, not only because of the wide variety of cuisines available but also due to the accurate and reliable delivery experience the app provides. Using our technology, people can order their favorite meals with a single tap and track their orders in real-time from placement to delivery.'

Residents can download the app on their phones and order meals from hundreds of restaurants in the city, with delivery in under 40 minutes and a fixed fee of 9 Saudi Riyals with no minimum order. Orders can also be placed via the service's website.

The service will be available daily from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., and will initially operate in certain neighborhoods before expanding to cover the entire city. Additionally, the company is offering a discount code (JEDDAH50*) for 50% off the first two orders and will provide delivery for just 1 Saudi Riyal throughout the launch period.
