WhatsApp has launched a new feature for iPhone users that allows control of microphone modes during voice and video calls directly, without needing to open the Control Center in the operating system.

New button for quick access to settings and changes

The platform explained, according to the specialized website WABetaInfo, that the feature currently available for some users adds a new button within the call interface that provides quick access to microphone settings and changing them during the call.

The feature offers several audio modes, including Voice Isolation to reduce background noise and highlight the user's voice, Wide Spectrum to capture more ambient sounds, and Standard and Automatic modes.

Changes can be applied immediately without ending the call. WhatsApp does not add new audio processing technologies but facilitates access to the built-in microphone features in iOS from within the app.
