The National Center of Meteorology expected in its weather report, today Wednesday, thunderstorms accompanied by hail and active winds in parts of Makkah, Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, extending to parts of Najran.

The center said in its report that the weather remains hot to extremely hot in the Eastern Region and parts of Riyadh and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, and the impact of active winds stirring up dust and sand continues on parts of those areas as well as parts of the Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Tabuk, and the eastern parts of the western and southwestern highlands of the Kingdom.

The report indicated that surface wind movement over the Red Sea is northwesterly to westerly in the northern part, northwesterly to southwesterly in the central part at 5-45 km/h, and southeasterly to southwesterly at 12-34 km/h reaching 50 km/h with the formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part. Wave height: from one to two meters in the northern part, from one to two meters reaching over two and a half meters during early morning hours in the central part, and from half a meter to one and a half meters reaching over two meters with the formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part. Sea state: light to moderate waves, becoming rough in the central part also with the formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part.

As for wind movement over the Arabian Gulf, it will be northwesterly to northeasterly at 15-30 km/h, wave height from half a meter to one and a half meters, and sea state light to moderate waves.
