The National Center of Meteorology reports in its weather forecast for Thursday across the Kingdom that moderate to heavy thunderstorms accompanied by hail showers and active winds will continue over parts of Jazan and Asir regions, extending to the southern parts of Al-Baha region. Meanwhile, light rain is expected over the southern parts of the Eastern Region. The impact of active winds stirring up dust and sand continues over parts of those areas, as well as over parts of the Eastern Region, Riyadh, Madinah, Tabuk, and the coastal road from Jeddah to Jazan.

Temperatures remain high over parts of the Eastern Region and Riyadh.

Red Sea

Surface winds: Northwest to west at 20-45 km/h over the northern and central parts, and northwest to north at 15-35 km/h reaching over 50 km/h with the formation of rainy thunderclouds over the southern part.

Wave height: 1 to 2.5 meters over the northern and central parts, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters reaching over 2 meters with the formation of rainy thunderclouds over the southern part.

Sea state: Moderate to rough waves over the northern and central parts, and light to moderate waves becoming rough with the formation of rainy thunderclouds over the southern part.

Arabian Gulf

Surface winds: Northwest to north over the northern and central parts, and east to northeast over the southern part at 10-30 km/h.

Wave height: 0.5 to 1.5 meters.

Sea state: Light to moderate waves.

Eastern Region Weather

The National Center of Meteorology warned in its weather report of a heat wave, light rain, dust, and active winds in the Eastern Region on Thursday. The heat wave begins at 11 am and continues until 5 pm in Hafar Al-Batin, Al-Khafji, An Nu'ayriyah, Qaryat al-Ulya, Al-Ahsa, Al-Adaid, and Buqayq. The accompanying effects include: temperature rise between 49-50°C.

Rain, Dust, and Winds

Tha'bloutn will experience light rain from 12 pm to 6 pm, accompanied by active winds, reduced horizontal visibility, and lightning.

Dust will be stirred up from 10 am until 7 pm in Al-Khafji, An Nu'ayriyah, Qaryat al-Ulya, Al-Ahsa, Al-Adaid, and Buqayq, with active winds and reduced horizontal visibility of 3-5 km.

Active winds are also expected in Jubail, Al-Khobar, Dammam, Al-Qatif, and Ras Tanura from 10 am to 7 pm. The accompanying effects include: reduced horizontal visibility and winds reaching speeds of 40-49 km/h.
