Al-Budaiwi Discusses Regional and International Developments with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of Congo

His Excellency Mr. Jassem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, met today with Her Excellency Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophonie of the Democratic Republic of Congo, who is the current President of the Security Council for this month of July, on the sidelines of the high-level open debate of the United Nations Security Council in New York City, United States of America.

During the meeting, they discussed a number of proposals and ideas aimed at enhancing cooperation and coordination between the GCC and the Democratic Republic of Congo during its current presidency of the Security Council, contributing to the Council's efforts in addressing regional and international issues of common interest, and strengthening peace, security and stability at the regional and international levels. The two sides exchanged views on a number of regional and international developments, and stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultation, and supporting international efforts to entrench dialogue and respect for the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.
