Al-Sisi calls for de-escalation and resumption of negotiations

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi today reiterated his country's rejection of any aggression against Arab countries, calling on all concerned parties to refrain from using force, exercise restraint, and stop escalation in the region, and return to the negotiating table, in order to uphold the value of peace and preserve the rights of peoples.

President al-Sisi said in a speech on the occasion of the anniversary of the July 23, 1952 revolution that the countries of the world must make every possible effort to stop wars and conflicts, especially in the Middle East region, and confront tendencies aimed at perpetuating hatred, bloodshed, and destruction.

He stressed the importance of continuing serious and persistent efforts to achieve a just peace that ensures security, stability and prosperity for all peoples, affirming that dialogue and political solutions are the optimal way to address crises and avoid the expansion of conflicts.

The Egyptian president explained that the world is vast enough for everyone, and that historical experiences have proven that violence only leads to more violence, and its results are nothing but ruin and destruction.

He again stressed the need to prevail the language of reason and wisdom, and to work to end conflicts through peaceful means, in a way that preserves the sovereignty of states and the rights of peoples and enhances security and stability in the region and the world.
