Arab Parliament Welcomes Netherlands' Decision to Ban Products from Israeli Occupation Settlements
The Arab Parliament welcomed the Dutch government's decision to ban the import, purchase, and sale of products from Israeli occupation settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, stressing that the decision represents a victory for international law and an advanced step in confronting illegal settlement.
The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohamed Al-Yamahi, stated in a statement that the decision reflects the growing international will to take practical measures to hold the occupation accountable, calling on all countries to ban settlement products, impose sanctions on settlements and companies supporting them, and suspend privileges and trade agreements with the Israeli occupation until it complies with international law.
He stressed that the continued impunity of the Israeli occupation has encouraged it to continue its crimes against the Palestinian people, calling on the international community to take decisive steps to hold perpetrators accountable and enable the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights, foremost of which is the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
