Arab Meeting Discusses Situation in Occupied Jerusalem and Palestinian Refugee Issue

Cairo, July 19 (QNA) - The 115th session of the Conference of Supervisors of Palestinian Affairs in Host Arab Countries kicked off today at the headquarters of the Arab League's General Secretariat in Cairo, with the participation of the State of Palestine, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Sciences (ALECSO), and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

Over three days, the conference discusses the situation in the occupied city of Jerusalem, settlement, and the apartheid wall, along with developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, the Palestinian refugee issue, the situation of UNRWA, and development in the Palestinian territories, in addition to following up on the implementation of previous sessions' recommendations and adopting the current session's recommendations, to contribute to strengthening joint Arab action in support of the Palestinian cause and preserving the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

In his speech during the opening of the session, Ambassador Dr. Fayed Mustafa, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector at the Arab League, said that the convening of the conference comes at a highly dangerous stage the Palestinian cause is going through, in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, the escalation of occupation, settlement and annexation policies, and the accompanying attempts to impose new facts on the ground and undermine opportunities for achieving a just and comprehensive peace.
