A Palestinian teen was wounded on Thursday by Israeli army fire during a raid on the town of Bani Naim, east of Hebron in the occupied southern West Bank.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said in a statement that its crews transported a 16-year-old teen to the hospital after he was shot in the chest with live ammunition during the raid.

Witnesses told Anadolu that an Israeli army force raided Bani Naim with several military vehicles and fired live ammunition heavily, wounding the teen.

The witnesses added that the forces raided and searched several Palestinian homes and detained a number of residents for reasons unknown.

The Israeli army had not issued a statement on the raid as of 6:30 p.m. GMT.

The West Bank has seen a rise in attacks by the Israeli army and settlers since October 2023, which, according to official Palestinian figures, has killed 1,179 Palestinians and wounded some 13,000, in addition to the arrest of nearly 24,000 Palestinians.
