The Israeli army announced that its forces killed field commanders from the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip.

The army said that the commanders, Muhammad Najeeb Aashour, a faction commander in the elite unit of Hamas's military wing, and Tamer Saeed Abu Nakhla, a cell commander within the military wing of the movement, were killed. It mentioned that "the two individuals were involved in pushing forward plans to carry out attacks against its forces, and posed a direct threat to soldiers, before being targeted in precision strikes", according to its statement.

The Israeli army added that "its forces belonging to the Southern Command are still deployed in the area, in accordance with the ceasefire agreement, and will continue to work to remove any immediate threat." The army did not provide further details about the strikes, including when and where they were carried out in the Gaza Strip. A ceasefire in Gaza was announced in October 2025, based on a plan by US President Donald Trump, stipulating a complete end to the war and the reconstruction of Gaza.

But on the ground, Israel continues to bomb the Strip almost regularly, claiming dead and wounded and more destruction, while the suffocating humanitarian crisis persists.
